2019 Laver Cup

The Laver Cup is men’s tournament between certain teams from Europe against the rest of the world. This year will mark the third edition of it, after the successful tournaments in 2018 and 2017. The 2019 Laver Cup will take place in Geneva, Switzerland. The two previous tournaments were held in Chicago, United States (2018) and Prague, Czech Republic (2017).

This year’s tournament will bring a lot of excitement and fun. People started placing their wagers on the potential winners of the cup. Team Europe’s odds are -335, and Team World’s odds are +240. There is a lot of information that you can use before placing your bets, though. You can find all the previous matches and winners at the websites that offer the top sports betting tips in NJ. The info will help you win a slip and maximize your profits.

Since we are going to start analyzing the first match between the teams, let’s have a brief history, check all the contenders and the possible outcomes of the match. This tournament has the potential to be even bigger because we have some up-and-coming stars that are motivated to be successful.

History

Like we mentioned before, this is the third edition of the Laver Cup. The previous two were held in the USA and the Czech Republic. Both of the tournaments saw Team Europe as the winner. In 2017, Team Europe won against Team World 13-8. Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Alexander Zverev, Marin Cilic, Dominic Thiem, Tomas Berdych, and Fernando Verdasco represented Team Europe. Milos Raonic, Sam Querrey, John Isner, Nick Kyrgios, Jack Sock, Juan Martin del Potro, Denis Shapovalov, Frances Tiafoe, and Thanasi Kokkinasis represented Team Word. Some of the players from Team World had to withdraw from the cup, and some of the players were replacements for them.

The 2018 Laver Cup also had Team Europe as the winner, 13-8. Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, Grigor Dimitrov, David Goffin, Kyle Edmund, Jérémy Chardy were representing Team Europe, while Juan Martín del Potro, Kevin Anderson, John Isner, Diego Schwartzman, Jack Sock, Nick Kyrgios, Frances Tiafoe, and Nicolás Jarry represented Team World. Again, some of the players from Team World had to withdraw from the cup. Some of the main reasons were injuries, a problem that happens often in the world of tennis, and since the players have important games every year, they need to be able to recover and continue the battle on the court.

2019 Laver Cup

Officials are considering to turn Laver Cup into an official ATP tournament. The first match of the 2019 Laver Cup will be on September 20. Team Europe’s captain is Björn Borg and the vice-captain is Thomas Enqvist. Team World has John McEnroe as captain and Patrick McEnroe as the vice-captain.

The schedule is yet to be released, but we can still analyze the possible outcome of the first match. The highest-ranking players in the tournament are Rafael Nadal (2) and Roger Federer (3). Every player from Team Europe is in the top 10 on the ATP list, except Fabio Fognini (11). Team World, on the other hand, has Kevin Anderson as the highest-ranking player in their group (18). Jack Sock (208) is the lowest-ranking member of the group, and overall in the tournament.

There is no doubt that Team Europe is the obvious favorite in this part. After all, we got some of the world’s best tennis players representing Team Europe. All of them have been proven to be dominant at the singles matches and they will surely win the first game, which is why online bookies favor them.
