Ready for the Grand Slams? Latest Free Bets and Tips

Despite a brilliant start to the season at the Australian Open, it feels like it is only now that the 2018 tennis season is really under way. Part of that may be down to the fact that Serena Williams has just returned from injury and that we should also see Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic make their way soon too.

There is plenty of wonderful tennis on the horizon in the coming few months, not least the French Open (27th May – 10th June) and Wimbledon (2nd July – 15th July). The likes of Murray and Djokovic should be back in time to try to reassert their place at the top of the men’s game, whereas Williams will be looking to get rid of the rust that saw her crash out of Indian Wells to sister Venus this week.

Betting on tennis is big business throughout the year, but it really comes alive in the run up to the Slams. There are lots of top offers available from the bookmakers for these events, including free bets to back players to win a tournament.

Moreover, you can get free bets no deposit required to back your favourite player for the French Open, Wimbledon and even the US Open if you wish. In light of that, here are some tips for the Grand Slams:

Rafael Nadal to win the French Open:

The biggest ‘lock’ in tennis betting is Nadal to win the French Open. When fit no male player can touch him on the clay. His odds reflect that as he is priced at just evens to win at Roland Garros. Value punters might prefer Roger Federer at 18/1, but the chance of doubling your free bet money on Nadal looks too good to turn down.

Simona Halep to win the French Open:

Many punters will be going for Serena Williams at 11/2, but she has said herself that it might take a while for her to hit top form again. The twice beaten finalist Simona Halep may finally get a chance to win the coveted trophy and her odds of 6/1 look decent for a player who clearly looks comfortable in Paris.

Rodger Federer to win Wimbledon:

We all wish Federer could go on forever, but 2018 might be his last year to be truly at the top of men’s tennis. He is priced at 13/5 to win the tournament that he adores and where the crowd loves him. We should savour every moment of it.

Serena Williams to win Wimbledon:

By the time Wimbledon comes around, Williams should be back in her groove at the top of the women’s game. The odds of 9/2 for the mercurial American are very generous, considering her record at Wimbledon. This could be the moment where she equals Margaret Court’s Grand Slam record of 24.

Novak Djokovic to win the US Open:

It is hard to believe that Djokovic has not won a Grand Slam since the French Open in 2016, but the brilliant Serb has had lots of injury issues since that time. He should be back in the swing of things by the time the US Open comes around. His odds of 7/2 look decent and he should use the tournament as a platform to regain that world number one spot.

Serena Williams to win the US Open:

Will this be the tournament where Williams takes the step away from Margaret Court to win Grand Slam number 25? Will it ever be equalled? Again, odds of 9/2 look very generous for a player who should be considered among the best of all time.
