The post by Allistair McCaw
Went out and watched a match today and this is the conversation I had with one of the sports parents today, a total stranger and he didn’t know me either.
I asked him who his kid was on the field, after pointing him out to me, he began with a list of excuses why his kid was not up to the level. “He’s one of the youngest”…”He was sick last month”…”His coach is away”… “He can’t perform a certain play well..He always makes that same mistake”. He’s the smallest in the team” etc..etc..
My reply to the Dad: “Isn’t it great just to be a parent and have the pride to simply see your kid out there playing?”
He just looked at me with a blank stare as if to say “Are you for real?”
